Chemical peeling

Chemical peeling is the process of applying an acid for the purpose of removing the upper layer of the epidermis, speeding up cell renewal, stimulating collagen production, and improving and brightening the skin, as well as making it more supple. During this procedure, a selected chemical solution is applied to the skin, which leads to exfoliation or peeling of the surface layer of the skin. It is applied several times a year in accordance with the patient’s personalized skincare plan.

Chemical peeling, in addition to rejuvenating the skin and reducing wrinkles, is also used as a supportive treatment method in patients who have acne, melasma, and other hyperpigmentation or acne scars. The treatment lasts between 20 and 30 minutes and can be repeated after 2 weeks, depending on the indication. The treatment can be performed without skin preparation, except in cases of special indications. If the peeling is used as supportive therapy for the treatment of acne, it is necessary to stop the acne treatment a few days before the peeling. In order to get the maximum effect of the peeling for the purpose of rejuvenation or treatment of hyperpigmentation, the dermatologist may advise you to prepare the skin with a special solution.
