Teeth whitening

Your smile is the first thing that people notice about you. A bright, white, and healthy smile boosts our self-confidence and enables better communication with others.

Restore the whiteness of your teeth with professional dental treatments with the help of our experts in a simple and safe manner.

Over the years, our teeth darken and become yellowish due to eating habits which include frequent consumption of colored food and drinks such as coffee, red wine, and tea.

Smoking and the use of certain antibiotics, trauma, certain genetic disorders, as well as aging itself, can also darken teeth.

Teeth whitening is an aesthetic dental procedure that changes the existing, natural color of the teeth to a color that is a few shades lighter. The new color will last for about one to two years, and we advise our patients to avoid the consumption of pigmented foods and tobacco products during the first few days, and especially to maintain oral hygiene so that the achieved results can last as long as possible

We offer two whitening methods, in-office whitening, and home whitening.

At the Petković Polyclinic, we will recommend the method that we consider to be the best solution for you after a detailed examination.

We perform in-office whitening using Phillips Zoom 2 professional whitening lamp system.

This method gives the fastest and best results, with minimal damage to the enamel and visible results after only one visit.

Before the lamp treatment, it is necessary to perform a detailed examination and professionally clean the teeth from tartar and plaque.

The procedure depends on the result we want to achieve.

A maximum of four 15-minute cycles can be done in one visit.

In order to prevent the gel from leaking and gums from irritation, we first apply the protective gel to the gums.

We provide the patient with protective glasses to protect their eyes from the LED light. Then we apply the whitening gel to the surface of the teeth and apply the light with the Zoom 2 lamp.

The gel is activated under the influence of the specialized blue light, and it releases oxygen that enters the outer surface of the teeth and removed pigmentation.

The treatment is completely safe because the concentration of the active substance in the gel (carbamide peroxide) does not damage the enamel. Some patients may experience temporary hypersensitivity of the teeth to cold 2 to 3 days after the treatment.

Home whitening is a slower and milder, but equally effective treatment. It is carried out with the help of specially made trays that are filled with gel. Trays with gel must be worn for a prescribed number of days for several hours, depending on the concentration of the gel.

Whitening is not performed on patients under 18 years of age, pregnant women, and people with sensitive teeth.
