Dermatologic surgery is a branch of surgery that deals with removing benign and malignant skin lesions. The removal of these lesions is often done using the classic, surgical method or the radio wave method. Your doctor will decide on the right method for you after a specialist examination and diagnosis.
Do not put off the examination of your skin
A dermatological examination will calm your worries, and the removal of a potentially dangerous skin lesion could prevent a serious health issue.
Observe the changes in your skin carefully. Suspicious skin lesions are removed using the classical surgical method, and the specimen is then sent for a pathohistological analysis. Dermatological procedures are performed under local anesthesia, and stitches are placed after removing the skin lesion. After the procedure, the patient comes to our Polyclinic for regular dressing changes until the stitches are removed. You don’t have to worry about scarring – after the procedure, we take special care to keep it to a minimum.
The radio wave method mainly removes benign skin lesions that do not require further analysis. We commonly remove soft fibromas, seborrheic keratoses, solar lentigines, vascular malformations, and other benign skin growths using the radiowave method. To make the procedure as pleasant as possible, a local anesthetic is applied (either in the form of a cream or by injection).
